Call for experts Erasmus+ Call 2021

Context

The Erasmus+ program runs from 2014 to 2020. Normally, on 1 January 2021 a new European program for education and training will start for a period of seven years.

Schools, universities and other organizations active in education and training can submit project applications to Epos. These are accreditation applications, mobility projects and partnership projects in the fields of school education, vocational education and training, adult education and higher education.

For the assessment of the project applications, Epos makes use of external experts. These experts play a crucial role in the selection procedure of the project applications.

Who are we looking for?

Epos is looking for experts from various fields of expertise to put together a pool of external experts. We expect the experts to be able to assess project applications in excellent Dutch and/or English.

Epos works with two types of experts:

  • experts who assess applications (expert)
  • experts who assess applications and are also responsible for the final assessment and consolidation (expert consolidator)

Are you interested?

To apply as an expert, send in the online application form form by Sunday 31 January 2021 at the latest. The form is in English. If you are only a candidate for the assessment of accreditation applications and mobility projects, you may fill in the form in Dutch. In all other cases, you must fill in the form in English.

Follow up and training

If you are selected for the expert pool, Epos will contact you for the follow-up procedure. Amongst other things, you will be invited to participate in a mandatory training course.

Contract and fees

The selected experts will receive a contract listing the rights and obligations as an expert, as well as the remuneration.

The fees for the call 2021 are set as follows:

Standard trainig (transport costs excluded): 60 €
Accreditations Mobilityprojects Partnerships
Expert 100€ per application Expert € 160 per application (small scale partnerships) €200 per application (cooperation partnerships)
Expert-consolidator €50 top-up per application Expert-consolidator €80 top-up per application

In accordance with the deontological code of the Flemish government, an expert associated with the Flemish government does not receive any financial compensation.

In case the experts are asked to attend a meeting, their travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis of a fixed contribution of €20 (this also applies to the (pre-) consolidation meetings).

Experts can act on behalf of a legal entity or as a natural person. If an expert acts on behalf of a legal entity, the fees and possible travel expenses will be paid on the basis of an invoice, to be submitted by the legal entity to Epos vzw.

If an expert acts as a natural person, the fees are declared to the tax authorities by means of a tax sheet 281.50 insofar as these fees exceed €125 on an annual basis. This form also states the costs paid. Since no social security contributions are withheld from these fees, the persons who receive fees must pay social security contributions themselves as self-employed persons and provide additional insurance.

To perform the assessments, you don’t need to travel. Only the training, the consolidation meetings and the feedback session may require travelling.

Conflicts of interest and confidentiality

In order to avoid any conflict of interest and to ensure discretion, all selected experts will be required to sign a declaration of honour.

Experts will be excluded from assessment in a given selection round if they are themselves directly involved in an application submitted within the same domain within a key action in the same selection round. If an expert comes to the conclusion that he/she cannot assess an assigned file because there could be a conflict of interest, he/she must inform Epos immediately.
